I started coding in mid-May, and currently, am about midway through the CSS course on both Codecademy and FreeCodeCamp. It may seem silly to do two programs at once, but doing so is really reinforcing the material, as has working on this blog.
My current main goal is to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript by the end of July, and then start working on learning some JavaScript libraries. I am aiming to be a well-rounded Front-End Developer by the end of the summer, utilizing my new coding skills as well as my design and UX background.
In the future, I would also love to learn Python and C#, in order to begin work on my own game!
In addition to my goals for coding this summer, I am also trying to get healthier, take a class for screen writing, and work on my novel that has been in development for about 2 years now.
Here's what I have been using to learn how to code so far, and what's keeping me running.
Hello world, I'm Amelia, aka Pierogi. I went to school for animation, then worked as a government contractor for 5 years. Now, I'm on a journey to learn code and switch careers.
Will link off my Codepen, Github, other sites here.
